Definition of Lower Boundary: The base of the first main sandstone above the Amaline Marine Band that forms part of a significant sandstone-dominated sequence. If the Amoline Marine Band is not proved, it is the base of the last main sandstone in the sandstone-dominant sequence below the Kilburn Coal.
Definition of Upper Boundary: The top of the first main sandstone that forms part of a significant sandstone-dominated sequence below the Kilburn Coal.
Thickness: Up to 60 m thick.
Geographical Limits: South Yorkshire, Derbyshire, Nottinghamshire and Leicestershire.
Parent Unit: Pennine Lower Coal Measures Formation (PLCM)
