Definition of Lower Boundary: Rests unconformably (in the type area) on Devonian rocks.
Definition of Upper Boundary: Change from conglomerates to mudstone with minor siltstones and sandstones.
Thickness: Up to about 50 m thick, 48 m in type section.
Geographical Limits: Probably confined to south Dorset.
