Lithological Description: |
Parallel bedded, buff coloured and moderately fossiliferous dolomite with scattered patch reefs and (in the southwest) calcitic and dolomitic mudstones. |
Definition of Lower Boundary: |
Drawn at base of buff dolomite where it rests on the highest finely laminated stratum of the Marl Slate or on basal Permian continental strata or carboniferous strata. |
Definition of Upper Boundary: |
Drawn at base of pale grey ooidal dolomite of the Sprotbrough Member; also at the top of the lower dolomite of the Hampole Beds where present. |
Thickness: |
Up to 40 metres (commonly 12 to 20 metres). |

Eastern England, (Yorkshire Province). |
