Lithological Description: Alternating limestones and mudstones.
Definition of Lower Boundary: Placed where limestone overlies sharp, irregular surface of pale grey-green silty mudstones of the Cotham Member (of Lilstock Formation).
Definition of Upper Boundary: Placed at the top of the highest limestone and may be arbitrary; Saltford Shale Member lies above.
Thickness: 6.4m at type locality; ranges from this up to 11.9m.
Geographical Limits: Central and south Midlands of England.
