Definition of Lower Boundary: Drawn at the base of the Callant Limestone Formation where it rests conformably upon the Lower Liddesdale Group.
Definition of Upper Boundary: Drawn at the conformable upward passage from the Catsbit Limestone Formation of the Upper Liddesdale Group to the overlying Millstone Grit Group.
Thickness: c. 290 m.
Geographical Limits: Liddesdale, Dumfriesshire and Roxburghshire (now called the Borders Region).
