Lithological Description: Sandstone of variable type, thin to thick beds, fine- to coarse-grained, fossiliferous with siltstone interbeds. Limestone beds up to 0.5m are present through the upper part of the member.
Definition of Lower Boundary: Not exposed in type section or elsewhere. (Type section chosen because it is the only place where the lithology can be fully seen).
Definition of Upper Boundary: Faulted out.
Thickness: c.100m
Geographical Limits: Mapped on geological sheet 348 (Plymouth). May also occur on sheets 349, 350, 355 and 356.
Parent Unit: Bovisand Formation (BOV)
