Lithological Description: Andesite, plagioclase-phyric lavas with thin interbeds of volcaniclastic rocks.
Definition of Lower Boundary: Base of plagioclase-phyric andesite lava, unconformably overlying the Duddon Hall Tuff Formation (bedded air-fall tuff) and Holehouse Gill Mudstone Formation (mudstone and sandstone).
Definition of Upper Boundary: Defined by bases of overlying formations including Wallowbarrow Tuff Formation (andesitic lapilli tuff) and Dunnerdale Sandstone Formation (volcaniclastic sandstone).
Thickness: 0 - 800m
Geographical Limits: Duddon Valley from Seathwaite [SD 220 960] to Bleansley Bank [SD 200 890], Cumbria.
