Definition of Upper Boundary: Overlain by Nod Glas (= Cadnant Shales).
Thickness: 60-150m
Geographical Limits: Eastern Snowdonia, around Betws-y-Coed. Farther north it is not readily separated from the Middle Crafnant Volcanic Formation.
Parent Unit: Snowdon Volcanic Group (SV)
