Lithological Description: Calcareous and non-calcareous semipelite at base passes upwards into well-bedded tremolitic dolomite. At top dolomite passes upward into semipelite and fine-grained psammite before upper boundary with Schiehallion Quartzite is reached.
Definition of Lower Boundary: Sharp change from quartzite to calc-semipelite and non-calcareous semipelite.
Definition of Upper Boundary: Change from finely-bedded semipelite to well-bedded quartzite.
Thickness: 0 - 50m
Geographical Limits: Discontinuous occurrence from closure of Errochty Synform [NN 7131 6655] to near Loch Kinardochy [NN 7750 5440]. Occurs sporadically east of Loch Tay Fault near Loch Tummel [NN 8334 6005] and Kincraigie [NN 892 678].
