Lithological Description: Sandstone, fawn to pale grey, medium- to coarse-grained, micaceous with plant debris; calcareous horizons weathering rusty brown and friable, very fossiliferous and crinoidal.
Definition of Lower Boundary: Not exposed but considered to be conformable with underlying Benbulben Shale Formation.
Definition of Upper Boundary: Not exposed or preserved due to post Carboniferous to Pleistocene erosion.
Thickness: c.25 - 30m
Geographical Limits: Kesh-Omagh area, northwest Carboniferous basin of Ireland.
