Lithological Description: A poorly sorted, clast-supported conglomerate with clasts of semi-pelite, psammite, quartzite, lava and feldspar porphyry in a medium-grained, lithic sandstone matrix.
Definition of Lower Boundary: A diachronous, gradational, conformable boundary, interfingering with and passing down into the Teith Sandstone Formation and the Cromlix Mudstone Formation, taken from where conglomerate becomes the predominant lithology in the upward sequence.
Definition of Upper Boundary: The top of the predominantly conglomerate member, below the overlying part of the Teith Formation.
Thickness: Up to 1700 m thick.
Geographical Limits: Strathfinella Hill [NO 6878].
