Definition of Lower Boundary: Taken at the base of eutaxitic lapilli-tuff resting on volcaniclastic sandstone or bedded tuff of the Glaramara Tuff.
Definition of Upper Boundary: Taken at the abrupt change from massive lapilli-tuff to volcaniclastic sandstone.
Thickness: Up to 40 m thick.
Geographical Limits: Kirkstone Pass to Troutbeck and south of Hayeswater, eastern Lake District, Cumbria.
Parent Unit: Seathwaite Fell Sandstone Formation (SET)
