Lithological Description: Sandstone, grey, mostly weathered orange-brown, fine- to medium-grained siliceous with ganister levels particularly near top. Delta top sandstone. 0.2m coal at reference section, c 12m from top of unit.
Definition of Lower Boundary: Not exposed but as delta top sandstone overlies delta slope deposits of the Roeburndale Member, likely to be sharp and erosional on siltstones with thin sandstones.
Definition of Upper Boundary: Sharp with c 0.5m grey micaceous sandy siltstone overlain by claystones of the Eumorpoceras yatesae Marine Band.
Thickness: 12m+ in Sapling Clough (basal part not seen). c.12m in tributary to Foxdale Beck (basal and top parts not seen).
Geographical Limits: Known currently only from the north and east sides of Ward's Stone Hill, Forest of Bowland, Lancashire.
