Lithological Description: Silty sand, silty clay and sandy clayey silt, glauconitic, bioturbated, locally calcareous.
Definition of Lower Boundary: Rests on the Marsh Farm Formation at a sharp contact on a burrowed surface overlain by glauconitic sandy silt with a few pebbles.
Definition of Upper Boundary: Overlain by Barton Clay Formation. Boundary based a distinction of sand content from fine- to very fine-grained sandstone of the Tellina Bed (topmost Selsey Formation) to the olive grey glauconitic sandy clays of the Barton Clay Formation.
Thickness: c.25-27m
Geographical Limits: Eastern Hampshire Basin.
