Lithological Description: Yellow,orange and grey medium- to coarse-grained cross-bedded sand with subordinate lenses or sheets of flinty gravel.
Definition of Lower Boundary: Not seen, probably sharp and locally erosional on the underlying Oadby Till.
Definition of Upper Boundary: Sharp contact with an overlying sheet of the Oadby Till.
Thickness: Variable, locally at least 11m around Shawell.
Geographical Limits: Patchy outcrops extend from around Newton (SK 53 78) northwards to around Lutterworth (SK 53 86).
Parent Unit: Wolston Glacigenic Formation (WOLS)
