Lithological Description: Sequence of organic muds with plant remains and wood. Pollen analysis shows a spectrum with Pinus, Abies, Alnus, Tilia and Corylus (West, 1981).
Definition of Lower Boundary: The member unconformably overlies chalk rich till.
Definition of Upper Boundary: Overlain by sandy clay with flints (presumed brickearth).
Thickness: Up to 3.5 m.
Geographical Limits: Small basin in till confined to the vicinity of Oak's Kiln Pit, Sicklesmere.
Parent Unit: Lark Valley Formation (LKVY)
