The sharp contact at the top of the Gartartan Conglomerate Member of the Ruchill Flagstone Formation. |
Definition of Upper Boundary: |
North-east of Malling [NN 5625 0065], seen as a diachronous transition to the Malling Conglomerate Member, south of Malling, there is a diachronous transition to the undivided Cromlix siltstone facies. |
Thickness: |
Up to 300 m near Arntamie [NN 565 010]. |
Geographical Limits: |
The north-west limb of the Strathmore Syncline, from Shannochill [NS 542 992] to north-east of Lochan Balloch, probably re-appearing in Keltie Water, north-east of Callander. |
