Definition of Lower Boundary: Taken at the sharp base of thick-bedded sandstone within the sequence of laminated sandy siltstones of the Horton Formation.
Definition of Upper Boundary: Defined by the change to dominantly laminated siltstones within the main part of the Horton Formation.
Thickness: 40-80m
Geographical Limits: Restricted to the Craven Inliers, North Yorkshire.
Parent Unit: Horton Siltstone Formation (HNF)
