Lithological Description: Limestone, brown-grey, arenaceous biosparite, oolite, interbedded with calcareous, fine-grained, cross-bedded and parallel laminated feldspathic sandstone.
Definition of Lower Boundary: Not exposed but by analogy with its lateral equivalent the Gortnaree Sandstone Member, it succeeds conformably, and abruptly, the Termon River Limestone Formation.
Definition of Upper Boundary: Not exposed but by analogy with its lateral equivalent, the Gortnaree Sandstone Member, it probably grades upwards gradually into argillaceous and bioclastic packstones of the normal Ballyshannon Limestone Formation.
Thickness: Maximum exposed is 3.5m
Geographical Limits: Confined to the Kesh area of the northwest Carboniferous basin of Ireland.
Parent Unit: Ballyshannon Limestone Formation (BAL)
