Lithological Description: Limestone conglomerate - granule to cobble sized clasts with interbeds of red sandstone and some siltstone near base.
Definition of Lower Boundary: Unconformity; in type section it overlies Millstone Grit Group (Namurian) sandstone and mudstone with seatearths.
Definition of Upper Boundary: Top not seen, present-day erosion surface.
Thickness: At least 257 m.
Geographical Limits: Cark Peninsula, South Cumbria, to the south of the Cark Fault and west of the Humphrey Head Fault, extending southwards off-shore into Morecambe Bay.
