Definition of Lower Boundary: Taken at the base of bedded silicic tuff overlying parataxitic and lava-like tuff of the Bad Step Tuff
Definition of Upper Boundary: Defined by the overlying parataxitic lapilli-tuff of the Crinkle Tuff Member
Thickness: Up to 3.5m, but is typically less than 1m
Geographical Limits: Cumbria. Langdale area of Lake District
Parent Unit: Crinkle Tuff Member (CRK)
