Lithological Description: Fine to coarse grained massive and thinly bedded sandstone.
Definition of Lower Boundary: The base of a main sandstone between the Chatsworth Grit and Rough Rock, and below the Cancelloceras Marine Band.
Definition of Upper Boundary: The top of the first sandstone below the Cancelloceras Marine band. Where present, it is the second main sandstone below the top of the Millstone Grit Group, about 60m below the top and above the Chatsworth Grit.
Thickness: Up to 15 m thick.
Geographical Limits: South Yorkshire and Derbyshire.
Parent Unit: Marsden Formation (MARSD)
