Lithological Description: Micaceous sandstone and siltstone, red-brown to fawn, flaggy, well-bedded, immature, commonly weathered, soft and friable. Pebbly beds common near base.
Definition of Lower Boundary: Sedimentary transition into Delnabo Conglomerate Formation.
Definition of Upper Boundary: Junction with Conglass Sandstone Formation, not exposed.
Thickness: ca. 100 m.
Geographical Limits: North-east of the Conglass Water in the north-east part of Tomintoul ORS outlier, upper Banffshire; a 50 km2 outlier, 15 x 5 km in extent, that is totally separated from other ORS outcrops of the north-east Grampian area.
