Lithological Description: Grey volcaniclastic sandstones and sediment-clast breccias interbedded with subordinate volcaniclastic mudstone and siltstone.
Definition of Lower Boundary: Probably sharp upon Buck Hills Member, latter comprising blue-grey, thinly bedded volcaniclastic mudstones and siltstones.
Definition of Upper Boundary: Sharply overlain by Bradgate Formation, of blue-grey, laminated volcaniclastic rocks and tuffites.
Thickness: About 115m in Type Area, thinning to south.
Geographical Limits: Mainly occurs in the Outwoods Nature Area and possibly feathers out southwards, on the Charnwood Forest Golf Course.
Parent Unit: Beacon Hill Formation (CMBH)
