Lithological Description: Conglomerates and breccias composed of mainly lava boulders, with beds of red sandstone and siltstone, and localised tuff.
Definition of Lower Boundary: The top of the Glenramskill Formation where volcanic conglomerate overlies sandstones and mainly quartzitic conglomerate.
Definition of Upper Boundary: The base of the Bastard Sandstone Formation, where quartz-rich sandstone overlies predominantly volcanic conglomerate.
Thickness: About 890 m thick.
Geographical Limits: South of Campbeltown on the Kintyre Peninsula on Sheet 12, excluding Sanda and neighbouring islands.
Parent Unit: Arbuthnott-Garvock Group (ATGK)
