Definition of Upper Boundary: The transitional top of the predominantly sandstone succession belonging to the Newside Arenite Member of the Westgate Formation below interdigitating lenses of conglomerate containing a high percentage of quartzite pebbles which constitutes the Kirk Hill Conglomerate Member.
Thickness: c.365m
Geographical Limits: Carmichael Inlier, Lanarkshire, Scotland.
