Definition of Lower Boundary: Base of the varied sequence of pyroclastic rocks, etc that unconformably overlie the Crinkle Tuff Member (high-grade rhyolitic tuff) in the Airy's Bridge Tuff Formation.
Definition of Upper Boundary: Defined by base of overlying members of the Lingmell Formation, usually the Scafell Dacite, and by the succeeding Seathwaite Fells Formation volcaniclastic sandstone.
Thickness: 0 to 65m
Geographical Limits: Rosthwaite Fell (NY 25 12) to Scafell (NY 20 06), Bell Crag (NY 29 14) and Great Langdale (NY 28 06), Cumbria.
