Lithological Description: [Obsolete: use NWF] Black shales, flaggy greywackes and shales, conglomerates, grits, limestones and mudstones.
Definition of Lower Boundary: Drawn at base of conglomerate of the Mulloch Hill Group where it rests unconformably on mudstone and sandstone interpreted to belong to the Shalloch Flagstone Group, and conformably on probable Drummuck Group rocks.
Definition of Upper Boundary: Drawn at conformable upward passage from grits probably belomging to the Camregan Group, to purple shales and mudstone of the Penkill Group.
Thickness: Approx. 320 metres.
Geographical Limits: Girvan district, Strathclyde, Scotland.
