Lithological Description: Mainly white, cross-bedded sandstone with thin beds of red-brown or grey mudstone (BGS, 1987).
Definition of Lower Boundary: Conformably overlies the Laggantuin Cornstone Member, which comprises sandstone and red-brown silty mudstone in fining-upward cycles with nodules and beds of concretionary limestone. Boundary seen at [NR 9995 4875].
Definition of Upper Boundary: Not seen, but is interpreted to be either faulted or unconformably overlain by grey mudstones with plant remains of the Laggan Cottage Mudstone of the Strathclyde Group.
Thickness: From about 150 to 200m
Geographical Limits: Laggan shoreline of the island of Arran, Scotland.
Parent Unit: Clyde Sandstone Formation (CYD)
