Lithological Description: Very poorly-sorted, matrix-rich gravel with boulders comprising angular to subrounded clasts mostly of greywacke sandstone and siltstone with a matrix of yellowish brown, clayey sand. Subordinate beds of both clast-and matrix-supported, stratified diamicton, and lenses of silty sand.
Definition of Lower Boundary: Generally conformable boundary with the underlying Langholm Till Formation; otherwise unconformable contact with bedrock.
Definition of Upper Boundary: Generally at the ground surface, locally a conformable boundary with overlying Flandrian deposits.
Thickness: 20m
Geographical Limits: Southern Uplands of Scotland.
