Lithological Description: Sandy diamicton, red-brown with clasts predominantly of Devonian rocks.
Definition of Lower Boundary: Unconformable: on pre Late Devensian deposits or bedrock.
Definition of Upper Boundary: Generally conformable, overlain by Ury Silts Formation and Drumlithie Sand and Gravel Formation.
Thickness: Very variable, generally 5 to 8m, up to 7m exposed at type section.
Geographical Limits: Howe of Mearns area and flanking the coastline between Stonehaven and the mouth of the River Dee.
Parent Unit: Mearns Glacigenic Subgroup (MDR)
