Lithological Description: Typically clast-supported, poorly sorted cobble gravel forming glaciofluvial terraces. Clasts are generally rounded to well rounded and comprise Borrowdale Volcanic Group rocks, slate, red, yellow and white sandstones, granophyre and granite.
Definition of Lower Boundary: Generally erosional contact on older members of the Gosforth Glacigenic Formation. At its type section it rests on the Rothersyke Till Member.
Definition of Upper Boundary: Generally occurs at the ground surface.
Thickness: Typically 2 to 4m thick
Geographical Limits: 1:50k Sheet 37 Gosforth. Egremont - Beckermet area, and Lower Wasdale area (seaward of the "Gosforth Oscillation Limit"), Western Cumbria.
Parent Unit: Gosforth Glacigenic Formation (GOGL)
