Lithological Description: Dominantly sandstone in sedimentary cycles with mudstone, siltstone and subordinate limestone. Sporadic packets of quartzitic sandstone present.
Definition of Lower Boundary: Faulted out.
Definition of Upper Boundary: Passes conformably up into slaty mudstone of the undivided Bovisand Formation where sandstone cycles die out.
Thickness: 320m
Geographical Limits: Mapped on Plymouth (348) Sheet. May occur on sheets 349, 350, 355 and 356.
