Lithological Description: Arenite, cream to buff, pale grey when fresh, coarse-grained locally gritty; interbedded with siltstone, black graphitic slate, pale grey-green to buff shales, locally calcareous, and thin pale to dark grey limestones.
Definition of Lower Boundary: Outgoing of coarse, chloritic and feldspathic gritty arenites and wackes and incoming of quartzose arenite (at top of Ben Ledi Grit Formation).
Definition of Upper Boundary: Top not seen
Thickness: c.1000m
Geographical Limits: Between the northern shore of Loch Venachar, Perthshire, Scotland, and the area around the Keltie Water, north-east of Callander, Perthshire, thence northeast to Comrie.
