Lithological Description: Sandstone, red-brown to yellow, generally pebble-free, fine- to medium-grained, cross-stratified. Dominantly aeolian.
Definition of Lower Boundary: Where fluviatile/marine mudstones and siltstones of the Manchester Marl Formation or laterally persistent fluviatile argillaceous sandstones of the Bold Formation (south Cheshire Basin) pass into cross-stratified aeolian sandstones of the Kinnerton Formation.
Definition of Upper Boundary: Where aeolian sandstones of the Kinnerton Formation pass into fluviatile, commonly pebbly, sandstones of the Chester Pebble Beds Formation.
Thickness: 0 - >150m.
Geographical Limits: Cheshire Basin.
