| Lithological Description: |
Greywackes (beds dominantly less than 0.5 metres thick) with mudstone interbeds. Strata to north much more thickly bedded with substantial proportions of massive arenite. Strata to south (Carghidown Formation) distinguished by presence of red mudstone beds. |
