Lithological Description: Very soft, soft to firm sandy/silty clays or muddy sands often laminated, usually olive to dark grey and containing sulphides. The laminae show coarsening upwards sequences. Pockmarks identified on seismic records in some areas.
Definition of Lower Boundary: Upper limit : seabed.
Definition of Upper Boundary: Lower limit : Ferder, Mariner and Shackleton Formation beneath an unconformity which may be ice scoured.
Thickness: 3.4 metres +. Up to 15 metres on seismic sections.
Geographical Limits: Not defined.
