Definition of Upper Boundary: Top marked by a change from fine-to medium- grained flaggy oolite to sandy and ooidal mudstone (Sandsfoot Clay Member, where present), or non-sequence overlain by fine-grained sand or sandy clay, locally with phosphatic nodules at the base (Sandsfoot Grit Member, Sandsfoot Formation).

Geographical Limits: From the A30 on the northern edge of the Shaftesbury Sheet (313), northwards across the southern half of the Wincanton Sheet (297).
