Lithological Description: Fluvial and alluvial conglomerates with interbedded sandstones. Organic-rich horizons with palynomorphs are poorly exposed at Golspie. Most information has been gleaned from boreholes.
Definition of Lower Boundary: Unconformably overlies Triassic nodular carbonate rock of the "Stotfield Cherty Rock".
Definition of Upper Boundary: Overlain by carbonaceous siltstone and claystone of the Dunrobin Castle Member.
Thickness: 32m
Geographical Limits: Northwest margin of the Inner Moray Firth Basin.
