Definition of Upper Boundary: The upper boundary in the Mary Ann Opencast Borehole (SD83SW/78), is taken at the base of a silty sandstone of the Doghole Rider Coal, a thin coal at the base of a shale-dominated sequence overlying the Doghole Rock.
Thickness: 4.2m
Geographical Limits: Burnley [SD 83 32] to Ightenhill [SD 81 34] areas.
