[Obsolete: use HPLO] Composite of 'Corton Formation': very silty, sandy clay or clayey sand, commonly laminated; with few pebbles and sand lenses, and 'Lowestoft Formation': primarily a stiff, bluish-grey clay when fresh; orange-brown to brown where weathered; with varying amounts of chalk, flint, silt and sand.
