The stratotype is in cliffs on the south bank of the River Brora: the lower part is 800 m west-south-west of the A9 road bridge [NC 898 038] and the upper part is 250 m downstream opposite the disused Brora colliery [NC 899 039] (Trewin and Hurst, 1993, localities 4 and 5, with amendments). |
