Definition of Lower Boundary: Drawn at the base of silicified dust tuff of the Buxton Rock of the Burway Formation where it rests conformably upon green-grey shales of the Stretton Shale Formation..
Definition of Upper Boundary: Drawn at the conformable upward passage from coarse green-grey sandstone of the Cardingmill Grit Member of the Burway Formation to purple shaly mudstones and siltstones of the Synalds Formation.
Thickness: About 180m
Geographical Limits: Near Church Stretton, Shropshire.
