Lithological Description: [Obsolete: use GCKP] Psammite, both thickly-bedded quartz-rich types with quartzite layers, and thinly bedded laminated feldspathic types. Contains a few mappable semipelite and pelite units.
Definition of Lower Boundary: Base not exposed in core of Meall Reamhar Synform; north of Allt a'Chireachan may pass downwards into Drumochter Succession.
Definition of Upper Boundary: Gradational boundary with overlying Tummel Quartzite Formation.
Thickness: >600m
Geographical Limits: In core of Meall Reamhar Synform from near Dalriach [NN 745 595] via Calvine [NN 805 658] and the Water of Bruar to at least the northern margin of Sheet 55W. Also extends westwards at least as far as the Allt a'Chireachain [NN 756 710 - 787 730]. Individual formations are not recognised in the north-western part of Sheet 55W.
