Browser compatibility

All BGS websites should now display properly on any device and on all browsers.

If you're using a smartphone, you will notice that the BGS website is now using responsive design to display appropriately on your device and make it easier for you to view the site on the go.

We have tested the site in a range of modern browsers, so the site should display correctly if you are viewing the site on your PC, tablet or mobile. Please let us know if you experience any issues.

The capabilities of the browsers differ in many ways, not least in their support of the various versions of HTML, Javascript and CSS. We have tried as far as possible to keep the same formatting across all browsers on several platforms. If you find any errors we would like to hear from you; please email the BGS webmaster with a short description of the problem.

Please note that Google's YouTube has stopped supporting Internet Explorer 7 and so our embedded YouTube videos will not play. Please upgrade to a newer version of Internet Explorer or use a different browser, such as FireFox.

Please also note that when using Internet Explorer, the site is best viewed not in compatibility mode. To check this, go to the Tools menu in your browser and then select the 'Compatibility View settings' option to make sure the 'Display all websites in Compatibility View' checkbox is not selected.
