The GSNI is currently providing hydrogeological advice
to the Water Management Unit (WMU) of the Environment & Heritage
Service through a service level agreement. WMU has responsibility
for the sustainable management and protection of water resources
in Northern Ireland. A wide variety of activities have the potential
to impact groundwater resources and surface water bodies fed by groundwater.
There is a need to assess potential impacts and to monitor and manage
those activities that have the potential to adversely affect water
quality or quantity. |
