Support to the NERC-TSB funding competition ‘Solving business problems with environmental data’

NERC-TSB funding competition presentation

In September 2013, the Technology Strategy Board and the Natural Environment Research Council launched a competition to invest up to £4m in feasibility studies which use environmental data to develop new solutions to business problems. Representatives from both the ESSP and its partner organisations actively supported the call by attending all of the pre-competition workshops, giving master-classes on environmental data and advising bid teams on the environmental data that could be utilised.

The results of the competition have now been announced: 33 projects were successful (subject to terms and conditions of funding). Of these, 14 have an ESSP partner within their consortium and a further 16 are planning to use data from an ESSP partner. For the full list of projects offered funding.
