All-Party Parliamentary Group for Earth Science

Introduction

The Group, founded by Professor Allan Rogers (former MP – Rhondda), first met on 5 April 2000 and meets once a month when the House is sitting. The Group provides a forum for debate and an opportunity for MPs to be informed about earth science. Subjects chosen are topical and have included coastal erosion, radioactive waste disposal, fossil fuels, alternative energy, climate change, subsidence, land contamination, landslides, aggregates, landfill, flooding, UK earthquakes, and contaminated land.
