Knowledge of a site

Knowledge about a site, its wildlife, its history and its management will help visitors to appreciate its value and to enjoy the wildlife all the more.

Information can be given on site though interpretation boards and off site in the form of leaflets or on websites, from which perhaps maps of the site and its location can be downloaded.

Guided walks and talks are a popular way of showing and telling visitors about the important aspects of a site and can also reach visitors who might otherwise never make a visit.

Interpretation can be general about a site or can concentrate on a particularly important species, group or habitat.
