Local involvement

Involving members of the local population in the creation and management of a site helps to build feelings of pride in a place and a sense of ownership. In consequence a greater respect will be shown to both the site and its wildlife. People can be involved through physical practical work, formal education activities with schools, informal education activities with local groups and monitoring of wildlife.
